Easy Judgment

Updated: May 3

People will judge you no matter what you do, so why not do the things you want? Make the choices that bring you the most happiness because it isn't your job to make everyone else happy. Be considerate and thoughtful of those around you if they are supportive of you and kind towards you, but if they aren't, ask yourself, "What do I owe this person?" The answer is, "Probably not much, if anything at all."

People will judge you if you don't have a secondary education and tell you that it's your fault for being poor when most work places refuse to pay a livable wage and health insurance is inaccessible. People will judge you if you take out student loans, or if you go to school on scholarship or financial aid. People will judge you if you're a mom, or if you're not a mom, or if you work too much as a mom, or if you work too little, or if you spend too much time keeping up with your appearance, or if you don't brush your hair for a few days, or if your house is messy. People will judge you if you are a soft, kind, empathetic man - they will assume that your softness is weakness. Masculinity, at its most evolved, is soft, calm, strong, kind, and protective, after all.

People will judge me because I wrote this. People judge me because of who I am and what I do, but that judgment is moot. It does not cause in me a state of disquiet.

People will judge you for literally anything, but that's not any of your business. Being authentic to yourself is more important than what anyone else thinks of you. There is so much stability in knowing who you are and, more importantly, who you are not.

Remember, you can out-create anything and you don't owe anyone your happiness, except yourself.

Remain unbothered.
